X Suite Update: Mesh Performance, NetLogger Refinements, XNODE Reliability, and Field Workflow Improvements

XTOC 0.2.86 XCOM 1.0.109

This release focuses on polishing day-to-day operations across the X Suite. Major improvements include Mesh 2.0 usability, NetLogger workflow enhancements, XNODE reliability, Tactical Map performance, SATCOM reminders, Video ISR improvements, and numerous quality-of-life updates for mobile and field operators.

XTOC — Command & Control Enhancements

Tactical Map Performance Improvements

The Tactical Map has received major performance optimizations for high-volume operational environments.

Improvements

  • Faster live ADS-B updates
  • More efficient AIS tracking
  • Optimized ATAK overlay updates
  • Reduced map redraws
  • Improved handling of large live datasets

Aircraft, vessel, and ATAK markers now update directly on the map without repeatedly rebuilding overlay layers, resulting in noticeably smoother map performance.

Battle Timer Popout (New)

A new floating Battle Timer is now available.

Features include:

  • Draggable popout window
  • Persistent position
  • Remains open while switching pages
  • Quick launch directly from the Tactical Map
  • Large LCD-style countdown display

The timer is ideal for coordinated operations, timed assaults, search windows, and exercise control.

NetLogger Workflow Improvements

The NetLogger experience has been streamlined.

New improvements include:

  • Selected net is remembered between sessions
  • Previously selected net is pinned to the top of the Active Nets list
  • Faster QSO logging
  • Better preservation of operator workflow while monitoring active nets

Backup Improvements

Large backup files are now significantly more efficient.

Changes include:

  • Built-in map overlays are no longer exported
  • Imported backups automatically remove unnecessary bundled overlay data
  • Dramatically reduced import memory requirements

This greatly improves importing large operational backups into XCOM.

Default Location Persistence

XTOC now remembers your default operating location across the platform.

This location is automatically reused by:

  • SATCOM
  • CHECKIN/LOC
  • Tactical Map
  • Aircraft tools
  • GPS workflows
  • Packet defaults

Operators no longer need to repeatedly enter their observation location.

Mesh Connectivity Improvements

Improved compatibility with:

  • XNODE
  • T-Watch
  • T-Deck

The Mesh interface now properly recognizes supported bridge devices during Bluetooth pairing and avoids unnecessary reconnect loops.

HTTP-connected Meshtastic radios are also now treated as immediately ready for packet transmission once connected.

SATCOM Planner Enhancements

Satellite planning now supports one-click reminders.

Operators can now create automatic notifications five minutes before AOS (Acquisition of Signal).

Notifications automatically update existing reminders instead of creating duplicates.

Phase Line Improvements

Phase line creation has been improved.

The first selected point is now immediately visible while building the route, making long-press map creation much easier during field operations.

XCOM — Field Operations Updates

Mobile Experience Improvements

Numerous mobile usability improvements have been made.

Fixes include

  • Eliminated page “snap back” scrolling
  • Improved Mesh 2.0 scrolling
  • Better Logbook table behavior
  • More reliable page loading
  • Improved service worker update handling
  • Better mobile navigation transitions

Overall navigation now feels significantly smoother on phones and tablets.

Enhanced Logbook Workflow

NetLogger integration has been further refined.

Operators can now:

  • Log QSOs directly from the Nets page
  • Remain on the active Net screen after logging
  • Preserve selected net context
  • Avoid unnecessary page switching

This creates a much faster logging workflow during active nets.

Persistent NetLogger Sessions

NetLogger now remembers your selected net.

Features include:

  • Selected net automatically restored
  • Selected net pinned first
  • Faster return to active operations

Mesh 2.0 Interface Improvements

The Mesh 2.0 dashboard has received several usability upgrades.

Node List Improvements

Large node deployments no longer shrink the tactical map.

The node list now:

  • Scrolls independently
  • Maintains full map size
  • Supports large deployments without affecting layout

Popup Improvements

Map popup text has been corrected for better readability with improved contrast.

XNODE Mobile Fix

Resolved an issue that could leave the XNODE module blank on some mobile devices after opening the Tactical Map.

Module loading is now reliable across supported browsers.

Keep Screen Awake (New)

XCOM now automatically keeps the screen awake while the application is actively in use.

Features include:

  • Native Screen Wake Lock support
  • Automatic recovery after screen focus changes
  • Browser compatibility fallback
  • Automatically releases when the application is hidden

Ideal for extended field deployments and command post operations.

Video ISR Improvements

Video ISR has received several reliability improvements.

Local Helper Workflow

The application now attempts direct helper communication before falling back to browser redirection.

XCAM Improvements

Camera probing has been improved using FFmpeg snapshot verification.

Benefits include:

  • Faster camera validation
  • More reliable RTSP detection
  • Improved camera readiness checks

Mesh 2.0 Enhancements

Mesh 2.0 continues to receive operational improvements.

Better Large-Network Support

Large node deployments are now easier to manage thanks to:

  • Independent scrolling node lists
  • Stable tactical map sizing
  • Improved popup readability
  • Better mobile behavior

XNODE Integration Improvements

Several reliability improvements have been made for connected XNODE devices.

Bluetooth Discovery

Improved BLE advertising allows XNODE devices to be discovered more reliably by XTOC and XCOM.

Meshtastic Integration

Meshtastic advertising now includes XNODE service information, improving compatibility between watch devices and the X Suite.

Documentation and Operator Experience

Numerous workflow improvements have been made throughout the platform, including:

  • Better mobile navigation
  • Faster communications workflows
  • Improved backup handling
  • More responsive maps
  • Cleaner Mesh 2.0 operation
  • Improved NetLogger usability

These changes reduce operator workload while improving responsiveness during real-world operations.

Summary

This release focuses on making the X Suite faster, smoother, and more reliable during operational use.

Key highlights include:

  • Tactical Map performance improvements
  • Battle Timer popout
  • Better NetLogger workflows
  • Enhanced Mesh 2.0 usability
  • Mobile experience improvements
  • XNODE reliability fixes
  • SATCOM notification reminders
  • Video ISR enhancements
  • Automatic screen wake lock
  • Default location persistence

The result is a more polished operational experience across XTOC, XCOM, and XNODE, especially for teams working in mobile, high-tempo, and large-scale deployments.
